Zebra is a visual protest against the quiet brutality hidden behind luxury. It is born from the story of a safari where wild zebras were killed, their lives reduced to decoration, their skins transformed into carpets or objects of status stripped of breath.
Through fractured black-and-white rhythms and layered acrylic textures, the work holds the tension between elegance and violence, between admiration and possession. What appears as harmony from afar dissolves into rupture when seen closely: a life interrupted, a body turned into pattern.
This is not depiction, but confrontation. A refusal to let beauty be separated from consequence. Each stripe becomes a memory, each interruption a wound, each surface a silent accusation.
Zebra stands as a requiem and a resistance, mourning what was destroyed, and challenging what is still being justified in the name of desire. It asks the viewer to feel the cost of beauty when it is taken rather than respected, and to recognize the wild not as resource, but as sacred presence.
